Setup is simple and can be done at home in 10 minutes or less. Fill out the emergency card, take fingerprints, collect a DNA sample using the oral swab, and insert a recent photo. Once completed, store the kit in a safe and accessible place.

Store your Safety Kit with your most important documents, such as birth certificates, Social Security cards, and passports. Keep everything in a secure, fireproof, and waterproof location, like a home safe or safe deposit box, so it's protected and easily accessible.

Review your Safety Kit at least once a year to make sure all information is accurate and up to date. Update emergency details, replace the photo with a current one, and collect a fresh DNA sample by reusing the included swab or purchasing a new one.
